It was morning over the Fairy Pond. Carna, a fairy who lives in the surrounding forest woke up to the beautiful surroundings. The grass had a bluish tint to it decorated with flowers of almost every imaginable color and the blue-green trees let sunlight shine through to places on the ground creating a pretty scene of light dancing on the forest floor. Carna loves to use fire magic and has deep orange hair, crimson red eyes, dragonfly-like wings, and like other fairies, the ability to change her size at will.
She looked down and saw a human racing through the forest towards the pond being chased by insects. Carna's stomach gave a growl and she knew what her meal was going to be. She watched the human run through the forest and when it came closer she could make the human out to be a male. Once the man got within about 30 yards of the tree Carna was in, the insects turned around and fled. Carna could simply shrink her prey with her magic, but decided that would be no fun and would instead chase him into the pond where he would be shrunk to a mere 3 inches.
Once the human was within 10 yards of Carna's tree she flew down right behind him and he turned. He had heard that fairies were one of the most dangerous creatures in Felarya and instinctively casted a fireball at her. Carna giggled when the fireball hit her. "It's going to take a bit more than that to hurt me." she said, and casted a spell of her own, purposely missing. The human then turned around and started to run farther in towards the pond, Carna in close pursuit.
The human ran through the forest with Carna chasing him, occasionally casting spells that barely grazed his leather boots. The dryads, echydins, and other fairies looked on at this scene in amusement with silent laughter. As they got to the ponds edge the human realized he was trapped. The human stopped and turned around to see Carna cast a fireball right at his legs. He got knocked back from the jolt of pain and landed in the pond. When he got up and looked ahead at Carna he thought she had used magic to alter her size, but then when he saw the doormat plant to his right was gigantic he realized that he had fallen into the pond and was now a helpless 3 inches tall. Carna seized him roughly by the waist, brought him up above her head and dropped him into her gaping mouth, swallowing him instantly.
